When God Speaks, Listen…

While in church this morning, I had a spiritual revelation providing me with a sense of wisdom and confirmation over a few questions I’d been asking the Lord in the last few months. Questions like, “Why have bad things happened to me suddenly and consistently these last eight (8) years?,” as well as, “Why did I go through so much hell and health problems in 2018?” The answers came to me unexpectedly after the pastor used the following scripture in his sermon.

It came upon me so fast, that I couldn’t even wait for the pastor’s sermon to end to begin writing this post. In the midst of the word, I began writing these words that filled my spirit to tears…

It makes no sense for me to worship God with all that I’ve been through and am going through, yet here I am, still praising, still pressing through the pain, still lifting my hands in worship, still shedding my tears for God. I’ve been broken, my body weakened, my strength diminished; yet I’m still praising. Why do you still praise God Andrea after everything you’ve been through? I still praise because I believe my worship changes things. It shifts the atmosphere of chaos for peace, and shame for mercy.

Whether God shows up with a blessing or a miracle today, I still will press through with a praise of thanksgiving and a worship of hope for the future, and for better days ahead. I’ve seen God. I’ve seen what He can do. I’ve felt His peace when my life felt super chaotic. When I felt like I would lose my mind after suffering so much heartache, as I wiped my tears away, a smile fell on my face showing me that God saw my tears, bottled them up, and was telling me that things will be okay. Even when it doesn’t look like things are getting better, a belief in my heart, even as small as a mustard seed, tells me that I must keep pushing, keep holding on and keep the faith that things WILL GET BETTER!

It’s so crazy how the spirit of God works. It’s quite profound how He chooses the most inopportune moments to speak, or whisper a word of encouragement to me. In my past, whenever trials would come my way, I’d get super depressed, have anxiety attacks, and would have thoughts and attempted actions of suicide. Now, my faith is stronger in The Lord. I do not desire to live the life I once lived. I do not desire to end my life. I do not desire to settle down and have dinner with depression and anxiety. I now have a spirit of fight versus flight in me. I now desire to push forward, even when I feel like I don’t know which way to go. I know I must trust my heart and trust in my faith. I must maintain the belief that,

Usually, I have more to say, but I believe that the Holy Spirit has said it all. What was in my heart, poured out through these words written above today. What was speaking through my spirit, ripped out of my mind and onto this page. I pray today’s post be a blessing to someone who needed to know that they’re not crazy. Allow me to repeat that to you again, YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!!!!

You’re not crazy for believing things will get better for yourself. You’re not crazy for thinking that trouble won’t last always. You’re not crazy for believing that you can beat any addiction you may be facing. You’re not crazy for believing and turning to God, trusting Him with your deepest desires, innermost thoughts, hurts and pains, and for expecting His deliverance and restoration for everything you’ve lost in life. No my friend, you are not crazy. If anything, you’re smart!

Consider this as your declaration wake up call that ALL things are working together for your good. Even the bad stuff you’ve suffered, will not be in vain. You will overcome! You will live to be a blessing to others! You will survive the storms ahead of you because you’ve already survived your past. You will be a lender and not a borrower. You will be the person who changes the trajectory for your family’s history. What they used to do, whatever generational curses they suffered from, you will no longer suffer through! You will seek glory, and He will find you! You will speak life and dreams, and as long as you believe, they will come to pass. God said, I will meet you where you stand. No matter how deep you’ve fallen, how bad you think you are, how messed up you’ve become and how’ve screwy you’ve screwed things up in your life, God has a plan for YOU and a purpose for it all!

So, let today be the day that you pick your head up and put a smile on your face. Think of the happiest moment from your past and imagine what it’ll be like to live your best life. Hold tightly to that thought, and move forward knowing that God is in control of your life and of your destiny. You will not stay stuck here in your present circumstances. You will not continue to live beneath your means, die by the hands of your enemies, nor by the trying spirit of your low self-esteem. YOU WILL SURVIVE! I repeat, YOU WILL SURVIVE!

Use this mantra below that I’ve created for myself. Tell yourself these truths everyday when you wake up in the morning, whenever the devil, or your circumstances, or negative people or thinking tries to make you believe that you’re worthless, that you’ll always live beneath your means, that you’ll never beat that addiction, or that you’ll never amount to anything. Say to yourself these words,

“I AM ENOUGH! I AM A SURVIVOR! I AM CHOSEN! I AM SPIRITUALLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE! I AM A CHILD OF GOD AND HE LOVES ME! I WILL SEE VICTORY FOR MYSELF AND I WILL GO AFTER EVERYTHING THE ENEMY EVER TOOK FROM ME! I WILL BE THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL, A LENDER AND NOT A BORROWER! MY BEST DAYS ARE AHEAD OF ME! THOUGH THERE’S PAIN RIGHT NOW, AND I MAY NOT CAN SEE MYSELF OUT OF THIS MESS, MY FAITH IS IN GOD ALONE FOR HE HAS ALL THE POWER TO CHANGE MY CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES AROUND! HE WILL COME THROUGH! JUST TRUST AND BELIEVE! KEEP THE FAITH!”

I pray that what you speak, that this mantra will be the turning point in your life. I pray that it penetrates deep into your heart and helps you overcome any self-pity, or doubt you may have in your mind. I pray that it helps you to remain positive and focused on God’s truth and His light. I pray that you become all that He’s created you to be. May you know and understand that you weren’t meant to live and die unsuccessfully. You weren’t meant to just survive the storms you’ve been through, and may still be going through. You WERE meant to be more than a conqueror! You ARE meant to triumph over your enemies through the victory of the Holy Spirit, and through the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus Christ. You ARE meant to become ALL that God’s created you to be! So, as you go forward from today, from this very moment in time, may He give you rest in sleepless nights, peace when hell arises in your life, strategy to overcome any obstacle of the enemy, and the strength to defeat all of the things and people lined up against you that are trying to shackle you to a life un-purposed, unfulfilled, undervalued and unqualified. May you have victory this year and a testimony to share with all that’ll hear it. In Jesus’ name, I pray that all these things I write be done unto you, Amen. Go in peace!

Sincerely with love,
