Many times, because our lives are so busy, we focus solely on praying for ourselves. Every now and then we’ll remember to throw in other people we deem special enough to pray for; but what about your friends? Not to sound like a TLC song, but aren’t your friends special too? If the answer is no, then you may need to get some new friends.
The Bible says in John 15:13 NLT, “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” True friendship, like the one offered to us by Jesus Christ, is kind, supportive, uplifting, full of love, camaraderie, joy, positivity and empowerment among other things.
A true friend cares about your needs, loves you for who you are, lends a helping hand when you’re down and helps you get back up from your fall. They’re honest with you, while still choosing to watch their words as to not offend you. They want the best for you & to see you win.
So, if they always have your back and do all those extraordinary things, don’t you think they deserve a place in your daily prayers!?!
I challenge you today to pray for your friends. Name them in your prayers. Be specific in what you need God to do in their lives. It doesn’t have to be a long, drawn out prayer. Just say a few words to God. Watch how He blesses your friend(s) all because you prayed for them.
The saying goes, “birds of a feather flock together.” Trust if God is willing to bless your friend because of your prayers, how likely He is to bless you for your selflessness.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you now asking that you cover my friends Shaka, Ashton and Chardonnay. May they feel your presence and love today. May you give them the strength they need to carry on their daily tasks. May you come into their homes and block any attacks from the enemy. May they each achieve great things in their pursuit of career, travel, stable family life, inner peace, marriage and children. May your will for their lives be done. Thank you God for blessing them. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
