Welcome to the Corner of My Life & Style!

Happy Pink Spring Fellow Fashionistas & Dapper Dons! It’s been a long time coming since my last blog, RoQ_CHIC, but it has been a crazy rollercoaster ride for me. As those of you who follow me on social media & through my previous blog may know, along with dealing with the sudden loss of both of my grandparents in 2014, I’ve kept busy working with clients and continued work in New York City’s fashion, television & film industry. Though my best attempts to keep busy should’ve kept my mind off the tragedies that I recently endured,  I must be honest and admit that grief has been weighing me down. I’m sure I am not the only one that has dealt with losing a loved one. To lose two people in such a short time span, who practically raised me as their very own, has been such a tough pill to swallow for me. I find that what keeps me going is The Word of God, constant prayer, music and fashion. I know it seems so odd to hear that fashion keeps me going, but it’s true! I love fashion so much that I
am always thinking of various styles to create for myself as well as my clients. Add in the virtual competition game for Wardrobe Stylists and aficionados alike, Covet Fashion, and I am preoccupied for the next few hours LOL! Another great way fashion helps me cope with some of the stressors of life, is by making me smile each time I put on a fabulous outfit and look in the mirror to admire my style before heading out the door. They say Retail Therapy is the Best Therapy and in this case, it’s definitely proven somewhat true for me!!! 🙂 So my first piece of advice to kick off the start of #StylesByAGees is if you find yourself stressed out, depressed, grieving, sad or just feeling down, walk into your closet and pull out your inner child! Playing dress up will make you feel like a kid again and will put a smile on your face along with giving you some great outfits to wear for the week. Add some music, pop open a bottle of wine and prance around to the beat of your own drums. Trust me you’ll start to feel so much better just having a good ole’ time dancing and prancing in front of the mirror– just as we all once did when we were kids! #Funners
